twin sister to Megareus ( the doomed son, the proud one, who fell before the gates of Neïs ). She may be sharp of tongue at times ( little more than a girl, but her innocence had burned away--not in her body, not yet, but in her heart. Too wise, too jaded ) but she is as precious as the others, with a head to match her looks. They court her as they court the king’s goodwill, protection and treasure, but Meg is discerning in her favor....

During her formulative years she fell in love with a man named Thyestes; a spectacular display of naiveté and poor judgement of character

they had grown up together and gradually ( so gradually she barely noticed at first, which was as awkward as might be expected ) her peripheral knowledge of him as a relation evolved into an appreciation of him as strong, as brave, as handsome, as graceful, as clever ( clever, broad grinning, with a voice that shook her heart like lightening on the mountain ); her own noble hero.

Which was why when it came to his life, she was prepared to surrender her soul to HADES for him

because it had felt like being hollowed out when she saw him brought down. She remembers hearing screaming as he falls and realizing the screams are hers. Remembers too the attempts to suture the wound with just her empty hands, caked in blood to the elbow. she knows it's foolish, but wisdom never really stood a chance when pitted against passion. Meg had sworn to walk through fire for him and her oaths are more than ornamentation. She evokes The Quiet One to barter for her lover's life.

she'd thought nothing could hurt worse than watching him die, but she's wrong. The pain of betrayal rocks her world on it's axis and in the aftermath she is worse than bereft, she is existentially maimed. Her heart lies in the ashes of the altars, either at the feet of the sky-statue of the goddess or in the single shadow inside the temple of the sun. Somewhere. SUMMARY

Since the striking of her deal, she's spent eons as a minion of the God of the Dead, running erands that range from fetch to kill, but usually fall somewhere in the middle.

With her soul bound to Hades, Meg's body sustains time, illness, and injury in quanities that would kill an ordinary human. She can feel pain, but the only way to kill her would be to entirely destroy her physical aspect.

3. If you play a Hades character of any kind, feel free to boss Megara around like you own her. Cause you do.

Tag: --- It's been almost three thousand years since the initial brokering of her soul and Meg has remained unexeunt and indentured for millenia through the proclemation of christianity in the city of Rome and the crowning of new gods and empires in every corner of mortal earth. She moves between the underworld, the god realms, and earth with mechanical regularity as menial errand runner, mouthpiece, negotiator, and aquisition and dispensal of artifacts to consolidate Pluto's power in these new romes.
II. DAUGHTER OF THEBES
	Primarly Historical. AU Mythology Verse. Tag: [ v: DAUGHTER OF THEBES ] Princess of Thebes, the eldest daughter of King Creon. In reward for Heracles' defending Thebes from the Minyans at Orchomenus he was given Megara to wife and brought her home to the house of Amphitryon. She bore him a son and a daughter, whom Heracles killed when Hera struck him with a temporary madness. Megara traded her soul to Hades in exchange for her children.
